1930: Jack Ryder replaced as skipper by Woodfull
A sensation as Australia selectors "drop" Jack Ryder as skipper. An embarrassed Bill Woodfull took over as captain.
As current skipper, Ryder was on the selection panel when he was omitted. He was also replaced as a batsman by Bill Ponsford for the 1930 Ashes tour.
