In his first major interview after his retirement, former Aussie wicket keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has hit out at the ICC saying that they have gone over board with the recent zero tolerance approach on sledging. He also says that he is looking forward to playing in te IPL. Apr 2008.
What ever Gilly says, sledging may have to be toned down...as India runs the ICC these days, and they want to reduce it, then all teams are on notice to reduce the amount of backchat. What has the modern game come to when you cant even have some friendly banter?
