Lord Ted: Swashbuckling 99 saves England

Needing 378 to win the 1st Test England started well with a century stand between Geoff Pullar and David Sheppard. But it was left to Ted Dexter to increase the scoring rate with a powerful 99 that got Eng within sight of a victory push after tea.

A sudden rush of wickets had England defending for survival. At the close England were 278-6.
