Marvan & Murali deliver upset in finals (1998)

2007: Murali spins India out of cup (Trinidad)

A calm and cool player in a crisis, Russel Arnold dragged Sri Lanka out of many sticky situations. He was highly valued for his gritty qualities. He was considered an ideal No. 6; he was also a brilliant fielder and bowled useful off breaks. Russel Arnold played international cricket for Sri Lanka for 10 years, between 1997 and 2007. He made 3 test hundreds in 44 tests, and scored 3960 runs in 180 one day internationals. In this exclusive interview with CricketCrowd, Arnold reveals: the highlights of career, which ended after the 2007 World Cup final; the best players that he played against - Wasim, Akram, Brian Lara and Murali; how he got his first lucky break in international cricket; the changes in the modern game, as observed during his 10 year career at the highest level; what life offers to him after cricket;

Great interview....yes, Arnold is calm and collected even in this interview...always liked his under-stated style.

Arnold picked Wasim Akram as his best fast bowler...and his comments on "super quick" Mohammed Zaid is interesting.

Nice to see Zaid get a mention...he was very very quick in 1997.

What, how can Lara be better than Sachin. No way. Look at Sachin's record, and longevity over 20 years

He appears to have had a love-hate relationship with Murali
