Australia have a record run chase of 382 on hand on the final day to level the series and retain the BorderGavaskar Trophy.

On a day of fluctuating fortunes, India raced to 116-0 with Virender Sehwag hitting 92 before they lost three quick wickets including Sourav Ganguly first ball in his final Test. Then after tea Australia got distracted with slow over rates.

Mahendra Dhoni (55) took advantage and shared a stand of 108 with Harbhajan Singh (52) to rescue India.
