Pietersen & Bell get series off to a rollicking start: 1st Test, Day 1 (Lords)
In his first Test against the country of his birth Kevin Pietersen he struck a superb century to put England in command adding an unbeaten 192 with Ian Bell for the fourth wicket following an opening stand of 114 by Alastair Cook and Andrew Strauss.
England finished the day at 309-3.
