1953: Ashes regained by England

In the Coronation year of 1953 England won the final Test at the Oval to take the series 1-0 after the first four Tests were all drawn.

England recovered the Ashes for the first time since losing them in 1934. Australia were led by the popular Lindsay Hassett whilst Len Hutton was the victorious English captain.
