Innings win as Matthew Elliot smashes 199 (1997)
Opener Matthew Elliot hit his highest test score of 199 against England as Australia posted a massive 501-9 declared.
England responded with just 172 and 268 as they lost by an innings 61 runs.
Jason Gillespie ripped through with 7-37 and 2-65. Australia won the Ashes 3-2.
